David III has arrived:-))

At my drs appt on 9-24-12, the dr realized that Little man was turned funny and he couldn't feel the head. So he got worried because he had been able to feel him for the past four weeks. So we decided to go into the hospital for an ultrasound and possible induction. On the way to the hospital I noticed a few contractions but nothing that really made an impression on me. After the ultrasound, we discovered that he was half on the cervix and half way in my left hip with his butt in my right ribs. So we went back to the waiting room to wait for my dr. At this point I was coming to terms that I was probably having another csection. After an hour my nurse took me back and got my IV going and hooked up to the monitors. I was having contractions but we weren't really that excited about them because of him laying weird. At 8pm, The nurse checked me and felt a shoulder instead of a head and I lost it. I started crying because I could see my dream of a VBAC going up in smoke. At 9pm, my dr showed up and requested another ultrasound done in my room. He wanted to see first hand what was up. Lil David had moved into perfect position. (ALL due to God!!) So we decided to keep going forward with the VBAC. He checked me soon after that an said I was a 3-4 and broke my water. He made the comment to my nurse "Man, that Pitocen is really working well for her." Dani(my nurse) and I just laughed and said no that's all her! He was thrilled! God had sent me into full blown labor without any meds:) So they started pit to get him out bc they were scared he would turn again. At 11pm I was 5 and a majority of the last of my water came out. Oddest feeling EVER;) I then made the decision to get the Epi bc I didn't want to wait too long and not have it. After the Epi I was a 6. At 12:40 or so my nurse rolled me on my left side to keep the baby moving down..at 1:20 she moved me to the right side. My Epi did great everywhere except in one tiny spot over my left hip and I knew something was starting to happen. So David ran for the nurse. She checked me and a huge glob of bloody show came out. She said I was about a 8 or 9 but was worried about the blood so she sent for the dr. He got there about 2min later and checked me and I was all ready to go. I was so shocked an scared. Haha! I had sooo much pressure in my tailbone and the only way to relieve it was to push. I ended up only pushing maybe 40min. He did put the vacuum on David bc he wanted to turn him a tad on one of the last contractions. Then I thought he used it to help pull him out but David said it was all me. Having the pressure from the vacuum helped me know where to push. It didn't hurt but the pressure on my tailbone about killed me. At 2:29, I gave a huge push and his head was out. Next thing I knew he was on my cheat and I was bawling all while praising God. I couldn't believe I had done it. At every point along the way I kept waiting to hear the words time for a section. My dr said he was thrilled with how well I did. Baby even came out sunny side up. I owe it all to God. At 2pm, I was nothing and no contractions. I was discouraged and my sister prayed with me that God would give me a peace like I had never had before. Little David had so many people praying for him. My dr even said that this was the hand of God! From the first contraction till the end was only nine hours:)) There is nothing like being able to get out of bed and MOVE in less than two hours after having him. I loved being able to hold my baby and get up without being in horrible pain. Little David took right to nursing and is such a good baby. If he does fuss all I have to do it hold him and he stops:) Daddy is so proud of his boy:) He pops straight up if he even hears him whimper:) This kid has some of the longest toes I've ever seen too! I swear he could wear a size three shoe now just bc of his toes:)) He was 7lbs 6oz and 19in long. Thank y'all that knew for all the prayers!!! Btw, totally cool part is the room I birthed and stayed in was the room where Celion Dion birthed one of her kids, my drs wife birthed one of hers and my nurse birthed one of hers there too:)) I owe this whole experience to God! He blessed me so much this pregnancy and birth. After Addison's birth, I felt cheated like I had missed something and I felt let down by God. I had prayed even before I ever got pregnant that I would never have to have a csection. So when it happened and then I couldn't breastfeed her, I felt like God had let me down. It took me a long time to get over it. So when I got pregnant with D, I knew I wanted the VBAC but knew that it would only happen if it was something God wanted. God provided EVERY step of the way. Now looking back on it all....I see that God used Addi's birth as a teaching tool for me and now I can give advice to those who want it because Ive been through both types of births. I've had the best of both worlds:-) Well that's all for now but I wanted to share this with those who had wanted to hear.
